Tips on Treating and Preventing Acne on Black Skin

Acne affects people differently based on their skin color.  Regardless of the level of melanin in your skin however, acne does not discriminate.  In dark skin for example, there is often inflammation found in lesions that is normally considered “noninflammatory.” Dark spots are more likely to be left once the blemishes clear up.  This post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation occurs when the inflammation causes the skin cells to produce more melanin.
